MARION COUNTY PROGRAMS

The Summer Reading Program provides an individualized reading program during the summer months.  

The United Community Rx Program is a unique collaborative program in Marion County. The program assists Marion residents to obtain prescriptions in an affordable manner for immediate and ongoing needs.  

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) is a free tax preparation service for low to moderate-income individuals and families. Federal and State tax returns can be completed and electronically filed.  

The Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) is funded by the Department of  Homeland Security to assist with emergency food and shelter programs when funds are available. Further information can be  obtained by calling the number above.

The Rapid Rehousing and Homeless Prevention Programs are here to help those struggling with homelessness or who are in danger of becoming homeless.  

The Payee Program assists individuals with managing their Social Security, Railroad  Retirement, or VA benefits. This program provides free payee services to individuals. Please note, we do not take on guardianship of the individual. 

The Emergency Senior Funding is a grant from the Marion County Council on Aging to assist those 60 and over with needs that are not met by other services in Marion. The funds are meant to help  with unexpected emergency needs that the senior may not be able to afford 

We offer Support Services are offered for individuals who require assistance obtaining a birth certificate, a valid state ID, or transportation assistance (gas voucher or bus pass) to secure employment.  

We are a Resource and Referral agency - many of our staff attend community meetings to stay up-to-date on available resources, services and funding.
